We we are so lucky! Yesterday we got to do some coding and got to try out the bee bots. We had to pick a spot on the mat where we wanted the bee bot to go. We then had to enter in the directions the bee bot needed to go to. We then watched the bee bot move to see if we entered in the directions correctly.
Miss Hu has been working with us to create some scratch art. Today we had to colour in an A3 piece of paper using pastels. We had to make it really colourful. Next we have to paint it black. We can't wait to show you our final piece of art. Here are some photos of us doing the pastel part.
We are so lucky! This week we got a visit from the Auckland Museum. They came and taught us new and exciting things about volcanoes. We were able to feel different types of rocks that volcanic eruptions make. We completed a challenge to pack a bag in 1min of all the different things we think we would need in case a volcano eruption happened near us. We found this a little tricky and we found ourselves packing some things in our bag that we now realise that we would actually not need if a volcano erupted.
Miss Hu has been teaching us about famous New Zealanders and what is was they did to make them famous. We learnt about Kupe, Sir Edmund Hillary and Jean Batten. We had so much fun learning about these New Zealanders. We looked at old newspaper articles about them. We read one article about Jean Batten and we designed our own pictures to go along with the article. Here are some of our pictures.
